Good evening!

Gander Mountain has had the Sig P238 with Rosewood Grips, Night Sites and Crimson Trace on sale @ $599 for a few weeks now. Gander's non-sale price for this gun is $649.

Earlier today, I stopped by Cabelas who was selling the NON-Crimson Trace P238 with Rosewood grips for $649 (interestingly enough Cabelas P238 had a 2nd Gen Mag).

Given that CT's seem to run in the $150-$190 range as an add-on, suggests that Gander's price at $599 is a great deal.

I've been carrying a S&W M&P 40C for a while now and am looking to shed a pound and some bulk as well as give me something else to mess around with at the range. I recognize that the Sig P238 has had a very checkered past, but feel my decision is, at the very least, educated on what to look for in the gun and how to fix it (and who to speak with at Sig) should it perform poorly.

No, theres not really a question in this post, I'm just sharing the low-price (or trying to validate if the price may simply be dropping perhaps due to its tarnished reputation, and Sig's desire to put this .380 into a few more people's hands to spread the gospel a bit.) Long post short, it seems like a heckuva good price for a nice looking, feeling (and hopefully working) .380.

Definitely sounds like a great price. Bud's has a basic matte black finish P-238 for $549. Add on the rosewood grips, night sights, and the Crimson Trace for $599 at Gander Mountain, and I think you've got the answer to the question you never asked.

Thanks for the info! I've had my two-tone 238 for about a year, put a ton of rounds through it, and never had so much as a hiccup from it despite daily carry. They're great little guns, and we're looking for one with the rosewood for my husband. This is definitely an option!

Good to hear you've had good luck with it.

For what it's worth, that sale is over on Feb 26th. Each time they get a delivery of guns, they seem to get 4-5 at a time and sell out by Sunday (at least in my market). Today is delivery day so hopefully there are a few on the truck.
