Sig P250: I wanna switch between 9mm and 45. I want to get the subcompact for carry. I would like to be able to switch between 9mm and 45. The sig website says i can change calibers, but their explanation is a bit confusing.

How would i go about doing this?

What would i need to buy in adition to the gun to make this work?

Thanks,

CK

from what I understand, only 9mm and .40 are "switchable", the .45 is a different platform.....but as my wife says, I probably don't know what I'm talking about.....

SIG P250 caliber conversion

The frame for the .45 is a different size than the 9mm, .357/.40. The main difference is the size of the mag well. You can buy a new frame (about $45 and has mag release pre-installed) and the conversion kit for the caliber of your choice. You would just need to move the action assembly from one frame to the next. The caliber conversion kit (about $400) comes with slide assembly and a magazine. However, you need to make sure that the conversion kit you buy, matches up with the frame size (compact/full size).
You might have a tough time getting these is subcompact. I know they are out there, but hard to find. SIG doesn't even list the conversion kits and frames for subcompact on their sight.

Hope this helps.
