Hi all has anyone herd of this pistol the Sig P250? From what I herd a employee at a gun store telling another customer that you get 4 cal in 1 pistol 9MM,.357sig,.40SW, and .45ACP is this correct?

Greetings Miss Debbie:

I just handled one last night. At first I was turned off by the concept and didn't think Sig was doing anything that great. It has a Double action only trigger and that turned me off as well. It's a compact polymer defensive handgun.

After holding it and playing with it, I must confess it's got a great trigger. it felt good in my hands.

Currently they are only available in 9mm, but it is Sig's intention to release the .40 S&W, .357 Sig and maybe another caliber that I'm not aware of.

the .45 is a differant platform i believe. let me see if i can find the source.

The rangeof P250 grips will include full size, compact and sub-compact basic sizes. Each of these basic sizes will be available in either full-width, medium-width, or slim/small. Grips for the 9mm, .357 SIG, and .40 S&W will all be interchangeable. Due to the size of the .45 ACP round, the .45 grips will not be interchangeable with the other calibers.

Thanks for info on Sig, I must have missed something lastnight when the gun store emp was explaining to me the concept of the pistol. He said you get 3 frames with 4 conversion barrels? This does not sound right but that is what he told me.

The "frame" is separate from the "grip" in a 250. The frame is an internal part that slips down into the grip. So, you can swap grips - full size, compact, subcompact. You can also swap the top - can't remember if it's just the barrel, or the whole slide assembly. So, if you had ALL the pieces (and they are all sold separately - you buy one gun in a package, then the rest separately), you could have 3 calibers (9mm, .40, .357) with three possible grips. Not sure how much all that would be. I looked at one, but not closely.

Hope that helps... See: http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/ShowCatalogProductDetails.aspx?categoryid=54&productid=183

Yes I've heard of it and handled one recently and didn't like it. I understand the uniqueness in its modularity but it sure felt cheap and I hated those really cheap looking rails. It sure was a far cry from something slick like a 229 Elite. Anyway, I had great expectations but was disappointed. Didn't get to shoot it so don't have any idea how it performs. My 2 cents. Cheers

You don't "get" anything, it is being advertised as being of modular construction, which means they will cheerfully SELL you other barrels, butts, etc.

I think it has a very good DAO trigger, if you want DAO. Feels like a very good revolver trigger. The modularity means it has to be wide enough to take the larger calibers. I want a flat carry gun and I think 9mm is plenty in a gun that weight.
