I just bought a sig sauer p250 40, I live in maryland so i have to wait 2 weeks to get it but im interested is anyone has had or fired one. Im pretty excited to get it and fire some rounds out of it. Looking for all oopinions on this pistol. Thanks

I have a Sig P250 in 9mm. I think ergonomics in view of the pistol is near perfect. It sits very comfortably on my hand and points naturally. The double action trigger is long but very smooth. You will have to learn how to pull the trigger rather than pull the pistol down when shooting it. I also feel comfortable keeping around in the chamber and being ready to shoot it like a double-action revolver. Sorry I don't have it in a 40 caliber but I hope this helped.
yes it does thank you, there isnt much difference from 9 to 40, my first pistol was a SW 469 9mm, i recently bought a sigma 40ve that i enjoy shooting, so im sure moving up to the p250 will a huge improvement over those 2. Just want to see others that can back up my thoughts

I CCW a P250 9mm when dressed casually (read not at work), so quite often.
It's been to the range many times, has proven to be super reliable, cycles anything, has good accuracy, is easy to maintain a sight picture, and is comfortable to carry.
The trigger is a bit on the long side, but very smooth and resets as expected. The grip angle works well for me.
What's interesting is that I don't particularly care for Sigs (though I have many). I believe, however, you will hear from some who don't care for the P250 due to less-than-desirable experiences. We'll see.
For what it's worth, I could not be happier with mine. Based on my experiences with it I'd gladly buy another.
Two weeks must seem like forever. Not to rub it in...but a CHL in Texas fills out paperwork and walks out the door with his / her purchase. It's nice

Cool idea behind them but the trigger sucks. I ditched mine pretty quick. I thought it would smooth out after a 1,000 round trigger job but no such luck.
It was stagey/chunky and gritty all at the same time somehow.
Just wasn't for me.

I love mine. P250 compact in 9mm. I dont mind the trigger it just takes some time to get used to. Follow up shots take the most time to get used to IMHO.
To address the Maryland cool down period. Move to WV like i did. I just bought 2 Hi Power clones today filled out my federal form and then walked out the door. It was so nice. This was my first handgun purchase since moving to WV. I will never move back to MD. EVER.

I have one in 9mm, and havent had any problems with mine that werent user generated.
I have to assume Kingofthehill got a bad one if the trigger wasnt nice. All that I have handled or shot have had very nice DA triggers, and all were smooth and light.
The only thing you need to watch is how you grip the gun. SIG's in general are not real "thumbs forward" friendly, but my P250 seems to be even more sensitive to having the slide stop bumped, and its sort of a double whammy, as its an ambi slide stop, so your trigger finger could also be a problem, depending on your shooting style.

My 250 has over 13k rounds through it, so I guess you can say I really like it. I admit it has a long trigger pull but once you get used to it then it becomes a non-issue. The trigger breaks in the same spot everytime so soon as you are back on target and taking the slack out then a simple flick and it will go bang. My only complaint is that Sig has not released the caliber conversion kits in any quantities, I really want to turn it into a 357. The small grip module was added for my wife and I found that it fit my hand even better so it now stays on it full time....

I've been waiting for the 357 uppers as well, but after thinking about it, for what they cost, I'd rather just spend the little bit extra, and have another complete gun.
I've had "convertibles" in the past, and whats always happened so far, was I found a combo I liked, and all the other stuff just ended up sitting on the shelf, and not ever really getting used. If I took what I'd spent for the stuff I didnt use, I could have had another complete gun.
I have spare .40 barrels for my P226's and P229's in 357SIG, and they rarely get used. Those barrels alone are the cost of another gun now that I think of it, and while they do offer an alternative if 357SIG were to become hard to find, I dont see it happening. If anything, 357SIG has been available all along, when the other caliber werent, Go figure.

The conversion idea, in theory, sounds great, and maybe for a "bug out" sort of situation it makes sense. My experience though, is that I end up with bunch of barrels / mags / springs sitting on a shelf that need the frame and slide I'm currently using and very happy with.
I've been strongly considering the Sig 250 for my wife. She is about to get her CHL license and we've been trying to find something she likes that fits her hand and feels comfortable to her.
She does not like my Beretta 92 (the only 9mm I own), and I was worried that my .40's might be too snappy for her, but then she surprised me by shooting a pretty darn good group (sub 3") with my 10mm 1911 at 7 yrds.
Took her to a few gun stores to put some in her hand and stumbled upon the forgotten 250, which she said she really liked. So I thought it would be perfect for her, so she could practice with light/cheap 9mm rounds and then carry it in .40 or .357 sig.
The ONLY thing that gives me concern is the DAO trigger. I don't own one to let her try one at the rane and I don't know how she's going to like it. The trigger on the one we tried was smooth as silk, but I just don't know how she is going to feel about it when she is used to practicing with my DA/SA autos.
