I really like the quality, reliability and most of the features of Sig pistols. However, I really struggle with inadvertently hitting slide release with standard hold. Anyone else have this issue?

When I first transitioned from a 1911 platform to the SIG 220/226 platforms I did experience inadvertently applying pressure to the Slide Stop while shooting.

Bruce was the instructor who taught me to lay my right thumb on the back of my left thumb. Besides keeping the right thumb of the Slide Stop, it also helped me keep my left thumb higher on the frame...to be there for the right thumb.

It's just a learned skill. It isn't any harder than learning not to curl your right thumb down...which would compromise your left hands purchase on the frame

Yes, I also have to ensure my right thumb (right handed person) is on top of my left, support hand, which might be more similar to how I'll hold my revolvers.

With my SIGs, barely touching the slide-catch-lever prevents it from locking back the slide on empty.

I do also mainly carry & shoot Glocks and 1911s, which I'll grip differently than my P225/226/229 SIGs, with the RH thumb above & parallel to my LH thumb.
