P232 380 is Not Forgiving
Quote: i bought a sig p232 a couple of months ago and have had nothing but problems with it. it shoots fmj rounds just fine..... but it will not chamber any hp rounds. i have tried corbon, and hydra shocks. i think the feedramp might need to be polished

I doubt that it's the feed ramp, more the shape of whatever JHP's bullets are.
Also, when you stray to far from 95gr, then TSHTF (using any bigger or +P loads) as I had feed failures most every 1st thru 3rd, first shots, both mags, both types of 95gr bullets thru 725rounds.
What I found was that with the blow-back-action, these little beauty's get real dirty fast and, that includes the interior of your magazines and, it was a guarantee after 230 rounds, that it would jam after the first shot, 2nd shot, or third, each magazine load.
So, I got some of the EEZOX synthetic lubrication, which you spray on metal, leave it for some 5 mins, then wipe off and it bonds to metal, making it very slippery, yet does not attract dust, dirt, or powder residue built-up, like gun oil.
After cleaning both the entire gun and the magazines, which you can use the EEZOX to clean and lube, but only for light cleaning, as you still need a cleaning solvent, M-Pro7 is what I use, to dissolve deep grit/grime, etc., but not with the magazines.
Just keep a ammo count, and when you get to 200, deep clean her, and the magazines, and she should go 100%.
But one other note of interest for you is, after all the reading I have done about the 380 bullet, I came to the conclusion, as many others have, that I only shoot FMJ 95gr, both for range practice and HD/SD, as FMJ gives you the best chance of deep penetration, as opposed to any JHP that won't penetrate nearly as far, nor will they expand..
I think if you use just FMJ 95gr ammo only, (nothing bigger, no +P stuff) and keep her clean (a *MUST) and the *mags, at or before 200 rounds, you should be good.

PS.. I shot with great success, Federal Premium JHP 90gr without any problems, except of course, round count powder residue build up, for feed jams. But like I said, I no longer shoot any JHP's with my P232.
One last little thing, but it could do it. Make sure you put the smaller diameter end of the return spring on first, and it seats all the way back, and the bigger diameter goes in the front of the slide..
