Long story short I bought a sig mosquito used a couple years ago, my son called me and told me it had a problem and he wanted to send it back to sig.

I told him to go ahead and today he got a phone call, he was told it was unrepairable and also not currently in production or available. So I guess I have a Sig 2022 in .40 cal coming in the mail. They did give a couple choices for the replacement.

I can't say it's a pistol or caliber I've wanted or feel I need but I will say that this is a good example of standing behind your product!!!

He sent it in maybe 2 weeks ago and expected delivery is 4-6 weeks...I feel this is also a pretty timely response.

I'm not in love with sig sauer and have only owned 2, one being a p220 that I didn't like and this mosquito. I say that so you don't think i'm simply bragging up sig because I love they're product.

What I am saying is that I bought a used sig sauer mosquito in a pawnshop that was used and it developed a problem. I never sent in any warranty card nothing. Sig fixed the problem the best they could and in my opinion above what I had.....no questions asked.

I have heard a lot of people have had issues with the Mosquito, some dealers refuse to work on them, but I still talked my father into getting one for occasional range fun. It has been good, except for having to keep it clean constantly. That being said, the SP2022 in .40 has been my EDC for 5 years. I absolutely love it, could not imagine a better pistol (for me). I believe you will like it.

The mosquito is a dog. Sig really didn't make it IIRC it was outsourced. They dropped it for a reason.

If you don't like the SP2022 you could easily trade it for something you do like. I am interested to know what other choices they offered and why you chose the SP2022 in 40? I love my SP2022 in 9mm.

OP the SP2022 is a spectacular firearm. I picked up a CPO SP2340 last year and liked it so much I added a SP2022 in 9mm to my SIG collection. I find that my polymer SIG's are so good that I have been giving my West German SIG's a much needed rest in the safe.

Very cool. I have owned one Sig. It was a great gun, but ultimately unneeded, so I ditched it. I am REALLY interested in a P220 in 10mm though, so it's good to know that CS is strong when I dive back into the Sig world.

I like the SP2022 but it is a different animal then the traditional P series guns. Their trigger is a different animal from the old school P series trigger or the current SRT.

It is longer but very smooth. It reminds me a bit of a revolver trigger. It takes a moment to get used to if you are used to traditional P series triggers but once you understand its quarks it is excellent. Super clean and predictable. Older SP2340s are very similar in their trigger characteristics.

To my eyes they look great. I love my German SP2022 in 9mm.

Great pictures...nice job. If you shoot a gun as good as you shoot a camera, I'd not want to get into a match with you, certainly not for $$$.

And I too really like my 2022. A bunch. It's giving my 226 a run for its money, timewise on the range.

I love hammer fired DA/SA guns, and the SP2022 feels perfect in my hand. Unfortunately, I'm left-handed and the SP2022 decocker is made for right-handed people.

I've never figured out why service weapons, such as the SP2022, are made only for right handers. What do the left-handed French cops use?

If they made an ambidextrous version, I'd buy the first one I saw. I think I'll buy a CZ P-07 instead since it has an ambi decocker.

I have an older P229r in 40/357 sig and a much older P6 in 9mm and love them both. When I bought my P229 I sent it in for the sig service plan and I will have to agree their CS is top notch.

Entertainingly I sadly avoided Sig's for years because of this very issue.

Then I got a deal on a used 2022 back when no one knew about them and tried shooting it. I found out pretty quickly that I can decock with the trigger finger on my left hand or my right thumb very easily. A discovery that has cost me several thousand dollars in Sigs, since.

Usually, when training, I decock as part of reholstering. So for me, since both hands are already on the gun, as I reverse the draw stoke and return to the retention position it is actually pretty quick and natural to reach over the top of the gun and decock with my right thumb.

If my right hand is doing something, my left trigger finger decocks just fine as well, at roughly the same spot in the holstering movement. It's not like decocking has to be done super quickly anyway.

If you can, borrow a Sig and give it a shot.

That's good to hear. It seems like the "higher end" companies are starting to step up their customer service game. Probably forced into it in a way, since middle-of-the-road companies like Ruger and Glock have always had excellent customer service, and gun people aren't shy about telling others when a manufacturer does them wrong.
