SIG-Sauer questions

So far I see the reason behind leaving the mag release alone, but if I might later use such a gun for self-defense, is there really any reason 9mm is any better than .40 S&W? I don't think I'll be getting the .357 SIG because it seem's expensive/hard to find.

9mm has more mag capacity and less recoil than .40. However, it doesn't carry the power of top end .40 loads. Same tradeoff as always.

I have the Sig P228 9mm and it is my favorite firearm. I would recommend that anyone interested in a good CCW / range gun try one out to see if it works for you.
