Well today I went to the gun show to purchase some .38 super ammo. I was chatting with one of my favorite dealers and he was looking for a SIG-45-EL. I was thinking about selling the one I just purchased (for various reasons, none of which had to do with the gun...I loved it) so I talked him into a trade for a NIB SIG P229 Sport .357 SIG + just a little bit of cash (thankfully he wanted to get rid of the P229 Sport since he doesn't normally sell those types of SIGS). I believe he wanted the P220-45-EL for himself but not sure.

So instead of getting just a case of .38 super I also had to buy a case of .357 SIG ammo. What a pity :D

I had a P229 Sport .357 SIG when they first came out and sold it off in my "gun churning" and have always regretted it. I LOVE my P226 Sport Stock (shot it yesterday) and I when I saw that P229 Sport sitting there all by herself (the only one at the show) I just had to have one again.

As usual, I will be out of town this weekend and won't get to shoot it until mid September but I'll post a range report.

Sometimes things just happen for a reason but it didn't hurt that I "happened" to have the P220 all cleaned up and in my car....(wink wink)!!!!!

Great! And in a couple of weeks you can buy yourself some real magazines for that thing! The .357 Sig is a lot of fun (watch out for bullet set-back, though).

I'm a big Sig fan but I have never heard the description "Sig -45-EL" Please let me know what finish this is.

That's just the model number of the Ernest Langdon model. It's bi-tone with a rail, etc. Do a search on Langdon and you'll find some info.

Yes I have seen them I guess I just had a case of brain fade. I've been thinking about sending my 220 to Ernest for a trigger job. I guess the only reason I haven't is the damn cost of shipping these days.

That's a real beaut you have there, QB. I have a plain-jane 229 and love it. And yes, 12-rounders are also in my sights. Question is: Will AWB supporters jump on the democratic bandwagon against Bush and hit Congress with a hackneyed Columbine song & dance? or will 10-round magazines find new life as heavy-duty PEZ dispensers?

Yeah....that's what I'm worried about.....finding another Langdon when I decide I should have kept it!!!!
