I sent in my Florida & Utah CCW applications on the same day - 7/1/09. I received the Utah one a week or two ago and thought I would check on the Florida one today. I called, waited, waited, waited, and finally spoke to a customer service rep. She finds my permit in the system from, um, 1995 or so (when I used to live in Florida). She doesn't find my current application. I tell her I'm pretty sure the check has been cashed (but don't have the info in front of me at that moment). She tells me I'm not in the system for a new permit and that's pretty much the end of the conversation.
<sigh...> So I checked with the bank today and see that the check was cashed on 7/10/09.
So... what next? Any of you in the same situation? I guess I'm going to call back tomorrow and say "***?, I have a canceled check", although I guess we're talking resubmission. It irritates me that I'm going to have to wait another 90 days or so, especially when I've been reading about how local folks apply at a regional office and get it in 10 days. The extra $117 isn't going to kill me, but would be nice to have them figure out that I've already paid them and don't need to pay them again.
I'm not local enough to go do electronic prints and was just doing the Utah & Florida thing for redundancy, and really don't "need" both of them. But would like both.
Any pointers on how to escalate to the Florida CCW or management/customer service supervisors would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
danbrew
