i've been tlhinking about mounting a holographic type sight on my dangerous game rifle... it would be a "brush gun" so most shots would be no longer than 150-200 yards... probably 100 yards or less would be majority of shots. I have back up ghost ring sights so i'm covered there, but I want something that is reliable and can get me on target fast.

Some sights i've come across that I like

Aimpoint comp c 3 with 2 moa dot
Aimpoint 9000L or 9000sc with 2 moa dot
Leupold delta point 3.5 moa dot
Burris fast fire II 4 moa dot
trijicon red dot reflex

I like the leupold delta point because it is supposedly really tough and slightly larger field of view then other reflex sights... has anyone tried any of these sights. Any recommendations?? Down side to the fast fire and delta point is that it would limit me to 100-150 yards due to dot size. A 2 moa or 1 moa aimpoint 9000L would let me go out to 200 yards, but would also add unwanted bulk.

I think that the lack of batteries or brightness adjustments is a really under appreciated feature on the Trijicon.

It's always on, the brightness level is always right, perfect for a rifle that might spend hours propped up against the side of a tent and then be needed RIGHT THEN.

On that list, Aimpoint or Trijicon.

But what about a 1.5x or 2x ACOG? They have good and flexible eye relief.... edit not sure how much recoil your DG rifle will have, you may want a lot of eye relief. The 1.5x24 ACOG has a stated 3.6" of eye relief and based on my use of the 1.5x16 I suspect it will work out to 5 or 6" if not more, the eye relief is quite flexible on the low magnification ACOG models.

Anyone have any experience with the Leupold delta point. Ihave a .45-70, I have ammo that shoots 400 grain bullets @ 2000+fps, non ported barrel. I like the ACOG but the only thing I don't like is the magnification

Deltapoint reflex sight

Will it work in very low light conditions or does it turn it's self off,

Thanks,Keith
