I think the 35 Whelen is one of the bast rounds out there for some hunting situations.I sometimes hunt on top of a very steep ridge, and the only way to get a deer out of there is straight up.If they happen to make a downhill death run,it can take a good part of a day to get them out.The 35 has always dropped them in their tracks. The 225 grain Sierras at 2600 fps make quite a thumper. The rifle is a 700 that has a slightly modified SPS "tupperware" stock and weighs 7 pounds,4 ounces. It'll kick the front flip up scope cover off in 3 rounds.Mucho recoil, but worth it.
