This is true. I think you guy operate off a much higher standard up there and rightfully so. I did a 14 day moose hunt and was amazed how much abuse my rifle took. That is only half a month for you....I took a .338-06 and really loved it. It fed much smoother than the guys with the .338 Win Mag and I got an extra round. The velocity loss compared to the Win Mag was really no big deal where we hunted. Mine shoots under an inch at 100 yards with the 225 grain bullets I use. A lot can be said for the 35 Whelen as well. I just preferred the bullet selection found in the .338 caliber. Good Luck with your new rifle project and keep us updated. I am very interested to see what you come up with.
