Does anybody have any advice for sighting in an Aimpoint T1? I have one on the way from Larue with the tall mount. I'm using a 14.5" barrel on my AR and have never sighted in a red dot before.

Any tips would be great!

Thanks

50 yards works very well for a zero distance. If you already have folding irons on the rifle and they are zeroed, just look through them and then dial the aimpoint in to the tip of the front sight. That should get you on paper at 50. If that isn't an option, start at 25 and set it about an inch low from your point of aim - should be pretty close then when you move out to 50.

Sight center of the dot at 50yds (or bottom at 25yds or top at 100yds). All three give the same zero. Out to 200, place dot on target to get hits. At 300, use bottom of dot. At 400, hold one dot over+windage.

Yes, Out of my BCM 16" middie, with a Ciener conversion installed, Federal 40 grain .22 Rimfire HV hits about 1" low at 50 yds when compared to Lake City XM-193.

You can experiment with hyper velocity .22 rimfire loads to see if you can get any closer or sight in the T1 with .223 ammo instead, that might have a slightly lower trajectory.

FYI, Aquila Sniper Subsonic 60gr. .22 rimfire feeds great, shoots to point of aim at 25 yds and puts 10 rounds into .25". Still smells like a full kitty litter box.
