Personally, I think friends should extend deals to each other. If you sold it to him for 550, and he used it for ?? rounds, he should pay some sort of "rental" fee, don't you think?

Dunno, when it comes to family, friends, and money... Lots of people have different thoughts. It's usually a bad mix. Regardless... I'd ask if he'd take something a little lower, considering he did wear the thing.

Lonestar, you need to post some pics while we await final judgement :neener:

Will give it a go LL, as tomorrow I will go back to the gun store, and take a pic of it with my cell phone next too a P220R and my P229.

My other thought on this is, about 2 months ago I asked 2 gun shops, when they would be getting the Sig P220 Carry, as that is what I wanted.

Both said, hmmm, I don't think we'll be getting any, as they are not, yet, California approved.

Got to tell ya, this is really kinda exciting, as to what P220 model this gun is.

One other thing, where can I find the instructions to download a photo in this forum?

Went to the range last night. This weekend is the Sig Show. I was told that there will be (6) 556s for sale. They will have one for anyone to test fire  Last year they sold over 60 Sigs at the show. The prices of all Sigs will be VERY low. They said they are trying to beat last years record. They have (3) P239 SAS 9mms in stock. I fondled and oogled one again. I think one of the 3 will be coming home with me on Saturday.
If anyone is interested in coming to the Show, the address is:
Classic Pistol
1310 Industrial Blvd.
Southampton, PA. 18966
(215)953-7264
The doors open at 10:00am and the Sig rep will be there to answer any questions.

Update: LL,

Went down today, Wednesday, and took my P229 9mm Carry, and put the P220st (stainless steel barrel) Two-tone next to it. Took cell phone pics, that being a new phone, turned out to be movies.. lol, and my gun salesman was taking the pic's with the phone as I held them. But, it is a bit longer lengthwise, not much, maybe this much ____ and, it was taller, being in the 45 grip vs the 9mm double stack mag/grip by aprox 3/4" total height

But, they had a really really nice looking P220R standard in the display case, Black Nitron finish, with the exception of the hammer, trigger, decock lever, slide release lever, and slide lock lever, in stainless, *or maybe Nickel, finish is the correct description. And, I started thinking, that my carry for CCW would really either be my Beretta 40cal, or my Sig 9mm Carry, as the smallest gun, the Sig P232 SL 380 was my gift to my wife.

SOOOOO, I decided to get the full size P220R, the one described above, as it will be my home SD/SD gun, along with it and either the 9mm or 40cal, will go with me to the woods, when fishing, and those will be OWB carry anyway.

So, I'm gonna have all 3 sizes, small 380, medium 9mm Carry, Mid full size 40cal, and full size 45.

Pick it up in 30days, and by then I can figure out this cell phone, or the new digital camera we just got, take pics of all, put them in this PC, and then download them to this thread.

FYI, the salesman said, and I chked the owners manual of the smaller 45, and all it said was, P220ST for Stainless Steel barrel, and he thought it must be a P220R Carry model. My only thought is, acc to Sigs site specs on Length of the P220 Carry is the same as my P229 Carry which both specs say 7.10 inches length, and that is not quite the fact with my 9mm Carry compared to the that P220st carry putting them side to side.

Go figure..

Whatever it is, Congrats on your new Sig :D
I hope they serve you well. Sounds like you've got all the bases covered, .380, 9mm, .40S&W, and .45acp. Thats a nice start to a Sig collection
Too bad you have to wait a month to get it.

BLINDREF, let us know how the 556 shoots! I'd love to try one of those.

And do post piccies of your new 239 SAS

...

Changed, gonna hold off till the P220R arrives, then most likely get a P226R standard model instead, as I looked at the Blackwater, and the front night sight is white/glow red, and the 2 rear are white/glow green. Went into the dark place, and was very disappointed with the red glow front site, as the 2 rear green jumped out, and the red was way too hard to pick up, so, why spend the extra 200 dollars for the BW, when I can use that money for some really nice grips, as that was the final bust of the package for me. They were too wide and, to be honest, slippery IMHO.

Nice showpiece gun, but not my cup of tea for a working gun.

Sig Show

Blindref you have just earned yourself a place in Sig Hell! I hate you with the fury of a thousand blows from Chuck Norris's fists!

Cmon a Sig Show? Where's the love to the west coast?!?!

PAIN!

Tell us about that 556.

LopLop let's see some pics of those grips on your baby!

Sorry About the tease!!
I just came from the Range. I took off half of the day to go shooting:evil:
I shot my new P239 SAS 9mm. This is my new favorite Sig (they tend to all be my favorites every time I get back from the range.)
The guys at my range are getting ready for the Show. There are blue boxes everywhere behind the display counters :what: They now have 4 P239 SAS 9mms in stock and 6 556s, along with just about everything else Sig makes!! I've already added to my Sig family this week, so I won't be adding anything new this weekend. I'm OK with that as I'm extremely happy with my new SAS. Here's some pictures.

Your going to egg me on to buying a new Sig. It's going to happen and when it does it's all your fault. I just want you to know that these gun pics are making me drool and I don't know if I can resist...

I need to get me some SAS! How are the SAS wood grips on the P239? I have the standard 239 and had to switch to hogue finger groover grips to get it a little wider. THe wood grips look bigger than the regular factory plastic grips.

Tex-
The wood SAS grips are perfect for my hand. I have big hands. They are thicker then the plastic standard grips. I have the Hogue finger groove grips on my P239 40&W. They take care of the recoil really nice and fill my hands up. The only thing I don't like about them is that they are too sticky for CCW. My shirt tends to grab on to them. Thats why I bought the SAS grips for my P229. I love the feel of the SAS grips. If you try them, I think you'll like them.

I have large hands also, and I was dumb enough to fondle a 239 SAS at my local range. Boy, if I had money I'd grab one of those in a heart beat. Tomorrow should be a fun day, local gun show, and then I'm going to try my hand at some action shooting my local indoor range is doing. I'm sure the Navy won't let me down! :)

Anybody out there get a 220 Match or Super Match yet? How is it?

I might just have to look into the 239 SAS. I had my heart set on a P220 SAS, but wow...that is beautiful, and if my fat mits can grasp it with those gorgeous wood grips I might just give in. I'll have to call around and see if any local shops have one. :)

Oh, and I may as well list my Sigs while posting in the Sig club! It's a pretty diverse collection. I will list in the order purchased. ;-)

1. P232ST (a sweet shooter and a looker to boot! Bites the webbing of my hand but never enough to draw blood).
2. P229 .40/.357 (no rail!!!) (Actaully I am not a huge P229 fan. This is my least favorite Sig. I shoot it the worst of all my Sigs. I still won't get rid of it though! ;-)
3. P226 9mm (no rail!!!!) (My favorite handgun of all time)
4. GSR (1st Gen--mine has worked VERY well, only a FTF here and there. I am going to buy a couple 7 round mags and see if they work better, but no complaints at al on this beautiful gun. It has me wanting another 1911!)
5. P220 ST (most beautiful gun I have ever seen)
6. P239 .40/.357 (nice carry piece, fits in my hand well enough with the hogue grips. It hicups on S&B .357 ammo but eats S&B .40 all day long).

I am hoping to add some of the flashier new Sigs, starting with an SAS or two and an Equinox and an Elite and the new P220 compact (if it fits me)over the next year or so.

going to shoot my new to me CPO nonrailed p226 DAK 9mm in about an hour for the first time!

Here's an updated picture of my 'Sig Family' with my new P226ST. Unfortunately I haven't shot it yet, but it's heavy, and should do great at the range (especially shooting 9MM).

D-Man, can you tell me where (the site addy) of where you got your wood grips. They look less polished, which I like, and less slippery, up higher, than what I have felt of Sigs, for example: on a Sig P226R Blackwater, that came with Sig wood grips (they were full rap-around, plastic grips IIRC) that were to wide and slippery for my likes.

I would like to get a set for my Sig P220R NIB that arrives in 3 weeks. OR possibley, like the wood Sig grips on the Upper Sig Two Tone SAS, as they appear less polished high, and more grit.

Even fake wood, color wise, plastic grips would do, as I really would like to stay as close to the guns factory black, plastic grips width and grit.

Thanks,

LS

Well i'm proud to report that I put 200 rounds down the pipe with no problems. I shot the 226 9mm better then ive shot any other gun (which isnt saying much, i've only shot a 220 and 357 revolver....only been shooting 2 months as well).

All my shots were within 6" groups, whereas in the past I was lucky to get half of my shots on the paper. After I shot, I had the guy put on some Houge rubber grips for me, and while he did that I started looking for my next purchase (besides a few thousand rounds of 9mm). Sadly the Houge grips he had in didn't fit my 'older' 226 or so he said, so I saved myself $17. Also, my sister is in town this weekend and I brought her with me and shes now hooked. She was in the army reserve and apparently she never had to fire a pistol.

CN: Sig 226 in 9mm is a great gun to shoot for a newb.

Well I did the action shooting at my local range tonight and it was awesome! But, I've realized that I want a sight set that catches my eye a little quicker. Right now I've got the standard contrast sites (dot the "i"....), and am looking for suggestions as to some good options. Main thing is something up front that catches the eye, do you Sig guys have any suggestions? :D

Lonestar49 - the wood grips on my P228 are Nills.

I actually picked mine up from a member at SigForum. You can find these at other places, but one site that is highly regarded is MacTec:

http://mactec-militaryarms.com/

The good news for you is they have them in stock......the potential bad news is that they cost $138. That there is the only negative towards the Nill grips - the high price.

They feel incredible in the hand, and as you see, they look great on the gun too. Before spening the money (if that's a concern), you may want to see if any friends or shops might have a gun with Nill grips on them to see how they feel for you. Worst case if you buy them and don't like them (which is rare), you should be able to sell them for an amount very close to what you paid for them.

There are some cheaper nice wooden grips out there (RoCo and even Sig has new ones out), but the Nills are considered top of the line, and have the best feeling palm swell.

Editing to add another picture of my 228 w/ the Nills from the other side to let you get a better idea on how they look.

Sweet!!!

...

Thank you D-Man,

Both, for the latest, greatest pic, as those Nill's have me drooling :what: all over my keyboard, and the site addy and other recommendations.. Money is not really my problem, hard work, and savings, ya know.

You owe me a new keyboard.. :D and, I owe you a pic of my special P220R, with the wood grips it will have to complete the perfect_P220R package.

LS :)

Decocker Lever

I am left handed and it seems the decocker lever may be in my trigger finger path.

1. Is it ever used?
2. Does anyone need it?
3. May it be removed?

Which SIG makes the better carry gun? I presently carry a P2000 or S&W M&P Compact and love both.

I've simply read too much on this thread and have become infected with the NEED to get a SIG.

My wife says she'll leave if I get one more gun.....I'll miss her.
