Regarding the P250. "IF" the info is accurate and you can change the caliber of this weapon at will and "IF" it truly will be available in 9mm, .357Sig, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP this weapon does have serious potential.

I was originally not a fan based on the previously announced 9mm only and the fact that is DAO. For me that made it DOA.

Still, it is not, at this time, CA compliant so it's pretty irrelevant for me, but I also notice that this firearm is just slightly smaller than the P2022 and yet it weighs more.

I really wish Sig would come out with a real Sub compact, polymer, three caliber handgun that is CA complaint.

Welcome sloo50-
Post some pictures of your Sigs and let us know how that GSR shoots!

Jimmie-
You're in. :D
That P239 is a great CCW. It's amazing how accurate that gun is.
Thanks for posting that picture!

Picked Up the P232SL Last Night

The Hogue grips and night sights make for a nice combo for CCW!

In addition to my 226 and 228, I now have a 220 Carry (CPO that I bought yesterday). So, the lineup is as follows:

Nice Frandy.
You also had one of the sweetest P232s :)
How do you like those Uncle Mikes grips on your P226?
I have those on mine and love them. I think they're not too sticky but sticky enough.

Uncle Mike grips

Others are prettier, but these are the thinnest and best feel-in-the-hand-for me. Love 'em.

I sold my Kimber Custom TLE II last week to a friend in Calif. I replaced it with a new P220. I now (again) have an all-SiG family of pistols -- P220, P226 9mm, P226 9mm vintage stamped slide model, P226R .40, P226R Stainless .40, and P239 SAS .40.

Here is that latest addition at the break-in range session.

Just ordered and will pick up tomorrow my P-220 Stainless Ultra with the rosewood grips and 4.4 inch barrel...lovely gun and feels good in the hand...
hope it is as reliable and accurate as ya'll tend to think....

CrawdaddyJim-
Very nice :D Are those factory wood grips?? They look great. I love the look of the "Classic Ps" with wood. Nice group on the test target ;)

Nice shooting motorhead :what: You have a nice collection. Do you have any pics of the P226R Stainless? I'd like to get one or a P229ST.

Eh no, A friend made them for me. I went and shot the P-220 with my son today. The gun is accurate as all get out. Tim had one target with 16 shots in it and measured less than 7/8 inch. The kid is a natural. Me on the other hand couldn't get anything less than a 2 in group. :(

Oh and we put 300 rnds through the gun including a 100 rnds of wolf steel hardball with out so much as a hiccup.

The guy in the next stall was experiencing FTFeed with the first round of a new mag (the slide wouldn't chamber the round completely) and then about every third round would do the same thing. Springfield Amory 1911 model. He said " I didn't have a problem when I first got the gun". He shot 100 rnds and was just about despondent when it was over.

Well.... I think I figured out the issue with the slide not staying back on empty on my P6. Its me, of course! :)

Seems that I dont get my thumb over as far as I do on my double stack guns with the P6, and I seem to be hitting the release. With my P226's and P229's, and even my P220's, they seem to have enough girth that my thumb stays more off to the side. Dont seem to have this trouble with my P239 either, but I'm still pretty sure its me and not the gun.

It liked the NATO 124 grain ammo. A little more brisk, but shot well.

These are from about 10-15 yards. All but the little squares on the one target were singe shots fired DA from a SUL position.

The square on the right was fired SA, the one on the left, DA. As with most of my SIG's, my single shot, DA groups are usually smaller than my SA groups.

Really??
I'm completely opposite. My first (DA) shot is horrible, unless I'm shooting one of my DAKS. I practiced shooting DA and then decocking yesterday. I'm shooting at the center of a standard IDPA target.

I want to shoot my P226 DA/SA 9mm in the next IDPA match at my range. I've always shot IDPA with my P229 .40 DAK. I'm having a hard time keeping my first shot in the "no penalty" zone. I shot about 50 rounds in the DA mode and probably missed the "no penalty" zone about half of the time. I come close. I'm usually in the -1 zone when I miss. I must be jerking the trigger because I'm hitting middle to low left. I do better in the DA mode at closer distances - about 7-9 yards. I'm thinking about just taking an extra shot after my first shot to make sure I get two in the "no penalty" zone.

I wanted to put a lighter hammer spring in to lighten up the DA pull, but even with the 20lb spring, I was getting light primer strikes so I went back to the stock 24lb spring. I'm going to do some dry firing after I get through messing around on here.

Which gun is a better fit for you, your P239 or the P225?

After shooting my P225, I almost don't want to carry my P239 anymore. The grip angle on the P225 just feels so much better to me.

My first post, so might as well join the club with it.

Moved here after 3 years in Japan, so picked up a pre-owned Sig P229 Non-railed .40. I had owned a Glock 35 that my dad hung onto for me while I was away, and eventually the Sig became my primary range gun. Fast-forward about 4 or 5 months, fell in love with the Sig, sold the Glock, and picked up a new Sig P226R in .40.

Got my concealed carry a few months back, so the 229 is now my carry gun :D.

1BR,

As far as feel, picking between the two is a tough call. Size wise they are basically the same. I almost have to say the P239, but a split second later, I'll say the P6. Shooting wise, the P239 without question. Mainly because its a 357SIG and VERY accurate. The groups in the little squares with it are usually ragged holes.

i think you might be having some other issues with you DA/SA if you're having to run a 24lb spring in it to make it ignite reliably. you should be able to get under 20lbs

luckily we're looking at bringing a Grayguns class to western Penn in May of next year...i'll post when i get more details.
