Silver solder question....

I have two inexpensive, beater revolvers with too-short (by a hair) firing pin nubs on the hammers. The springs are fine, btw, and nothing else is wrong with them. I want to extend the nubs a bit with silver solder. Any opinions or recommendations as to brand, type, etc? Thanks.

Doubtful if it will work.
It's not hard enough for a firing pin tip or hammer impact.
And the heat necessary to use it would anneal the firing pins heat treatment.

If I was to try, I'd use this.

Maybe load the primers a hair high if the cylinder will turn?

how to build firing pin tip

TIG
do not do it yourself. take it to a welding shop or better -a friend with a welding shop.
In any case it needs to be done correctly
1 little dap should do it.
let it cool , then stone it to shape and use a cold blue touch up
the weld material will be harder than the hammer

What brand/model of revos? Is the firing pin integral or pinned in a slot (look closely)? Even if integral, I would probably slot the hammer, drill it for a rivet, and make a firing pin out of good steel to pin in place before I tried welding.

They're both H&Rs, a 922 and a Young America. The hammers are one solid piece with no floating pin. The gun below isn't mine but it's the same gun.

The best way is Tig, silver is too soft.
