Anything glaringly missing from this simple collection of firearms? Thinking maybe a deep concealment gun is next. Maybe a 308 or 30-06 rifle? I'm partial to lever rifles so maybe a 44mag lever to share ammo with the smith? I'm thinking this about covers all my needs though as I am not a big hunter.

Sako Quad with 22lr, 17m2, and 22mag barrels
Remington 870 express magnum (12 Gauge)
Glock 19 as CCW (9MM)
Smith & Wesson M629-4. (44mag)
Dan Wesson PM-7 (45acp)
Ruger MKIII 22/45 Lite (22LR)

You need to delve into military history:
AR15
M1 Garand
M1 Carbine
M1A
1903
1917

Looks well rounded to me.. If your not a hunter, no point in a big bore rifle, just to punch paper. Maybe a 20g semi-auto (Beretta AL-391)?

Sell the Glock since you have 2 semis that have the same grip/ergos and put the money towards a centerfire rifle. You can decide if you want a semi carbine in an intermediate cartridge and a longer range major caliber or not.

LopezEL;

Your collection is at a stage that in order for us to give you meaninful advice, we need to know some more information. Are you hard-core urban, in suburbia, or rural? What you've got there tells me you're not already living the mountain-man recluse lifestyle. So whattaya wanna do? Punch paper, kill small varmints, take up hunting game animals, collect oddities & neat stuff that goes bang, or go to super-cool tactical school? Once we know a little more about your circumstances & desires, then it's a lot easier to give you an informed opinion.

It's a mirror image of what I'm working with: Everything you need...nothing you don't. I might consider adding a high power bolt action rifle (308, 270, 30-06, etc), but if you don't need it, why bother?

I'm constantly fighting the urge to add to my ranks when what I should really be doing is buying more ammo for the the ones I have.

This is not all I own. Just thinking about reducing to this and maybe a large bore rifle since I don't own one and something along the lines of a Smith snub or LCP for pocket carry. I have a few other rim fire pistols and rifles, another 870 in 20 gauge, etc.

Most of my extra gun money has been going towards NFA stuff recently. I have a 22 suppressor and waiting on a 45 Tirant as well as 30cal rifle suppressor- the SDN-6. Which is another reason I'm leaning towards a 308 rifle or an AR in 300 blackout.

An AR only when the prices drop some more. A SA revolver Ruger or Colt.

There is a difference between a working battery of arms and a collection or accumulation.

Whatever it is called it's a good start.

Cheers,

ts

Oh, I understand now.

Well, I didn't buy a high powered rifle until I started hunting. Never had a need until then.
But it can be fun shooting steel targets beyond 300 yards. They make a nice gong when hit. Go for it.

The wood is from a wing master. I traded an LCR for it and a Brazilian Mauser in 30-06. Keeping the Remy but selling the Mauser.

If it were me, I'd want to add a modern military rifle, AR-15 or M1A depending on ability and preferences. That's the glaring gap.

An optional one, but one that would add greatly to my happiness were it my collection, would be an upscale upland shotgun. Side by sides and Auto 5s are my favorites. I'm not saying it would kill birds any better than your 870, but there's a satisfaction that comes from using fine tools.
