Simple question for XD owners.

Check out this photo.

It shows that the rear end of the barrel is stainless or polished, but most of the HS2000/XDs I have seen have a blued barrel.

Any ideas?

Hmm... good question. I dont remember if my XD had a 2 piece barrel or not... but that would explain it.
Wait... no... my barrel was blued and the breach block was showing wear marks.
Maybe the just didn't blue that part because of the markings.

Whatever it is... it's not really anything but a cosmetic issue.

looks like a custom job...has porting too...looks neat.

Maybe the ported model comes that way? Mine is the 4" service model and the top is blued. I think it's just that picture.

The barrel has warning about the ports on it. Maybe it is easier to read that way. Mark

Maybe they are now polished to highlight the printing (etching) on the surface.

If I remember right it is SS because it is the ported version. The non-ported is blued.

i dont think they have "blued" versions available...they are all some sort of poly or moly coat...as far as i know.

EDITED: Well I went to the website. I see you are talking about the "tactical pro". Too much money. Looks like a fiber optic sight, a beavertail and a trigger job for $500. Mark

I don't know about the fiber optic sights - HATE THEM! - but comes with a trigger job?
On an XD?

That has got to be a sweet sweet trigger. They are already outstanding.

Yes, I don't see how a sight and a trigger job could run 500 bucks on this type of gun. I think I would rather have two normal XDs for that price. One for each hand!
