I was looking for a SA revolver, I already have a .45 LC and I thought that a .44 Mag version would be fun. I question I have is can the .44 Magnum Bounty Hunter from EAA handle Corbon Hunter .44 Magnum 240gr. JHP ammunition?

If it can I am going to get the Ruger Super Blackhawk (the problem is that the ruger is expensive for just a fun gun)

If you haven't completely made up your mind I would suggest you just find a used ruger. They can be found reasonably priced and I suspect you would be happier with it. It is a better gun used than a bounty hunter is new.

My stainless Super Blackhawk cost me $285 used, last year.

It is a better gun used than a bounty hunter is new.

That's a real understatement.:)

If it's just a "fun gun" then why do you want to put expensive full house hunting loads through it, though?

Well, I might pack it hunting once and a while. I usually carry my 454 raging bull, but I'd probably bring it a few times.

I started looking on gunbroker, saw some good prices. Problem is I would hate to buy one used from the web and it arrived broken or malfunctioning

WHY?

I saw two new-condition (maybe unfired) stainless Super Blackhawks with 5 1/2" barrels, original boxes, at the last gun show for $440 each.

For your sake, I hope someone outbids you and you can go looking for the better revolver at the same price.

There are lots of good used .44 magnums on the market. Guys buy'em looking for a big macho hand cannon, not taking recoil into account. I have four .44s , all bought used and in very good condition.

I lost that auction but, I found one at a store in Tampa for $350. $386 after tax and background check. It was used but in great condition. Stainless with fiber optic front and rear sights. I'll post pics tomorrow.

Cool!

I misunderstood. I thought that you bid that for a used Bounty Hunter. That's why I asked "WHY?":)

Enjoy your Ruger!

The wide angle of the camera you used sure makes it look longer and more mean then I'm sure it is.... :D

Congrats on a fine gun. Don't forget that there's Ruger Only loads you can go for in the books.

I've shot some .44Mag from a S&W 629 and found it is a fair amount of kick. More than I truly like. But if you're reloading you can play with some slower burning powders that'll change it from a slap to more of a strong sudden push and that should produce some fun shooting.
