Single action vs double action under stress?

I was watching a youtube video of a guy saying to train with your heart rate up to simulate stress conditions to see where your accuracy really is for a sd situation.

He was also talking the benefit of a single action trigger pull is morre evident in that case.

Thinking back on 3 shootings I have been involved in and not hit anything, I tested this theory of his out.

A little backstory here, I train once a week at the range, the last 10 years or so, I am very good with my sig 239, kahr pm40, and taurus 605. Two targets, double tap to the head at 10 yards no problem. Some say it is obsessive but hey it ain't all for self defense purposes it is a hobby I enjoy.

However with heart rate up, 50 freehand squats, instant crap hit rate. About like when I was under stress in the 3 self defense situations (well 2 sd, 1 not I use to be a punk).

10 yard shoulder hits, belly shots, full misses of entire target, the works.

Except with the sig 239 (heavier 40 caliber first shot da, follow up single system), they still stayed inside the face and head area, one or two misses, couple neck and upper torso hits. But acceptable at least.

To go from a freaky good shooter that even impresses people, to this level of mediocre accuracy under stress of course bothers me, yet also makes me reconsider my carry choices.

I am wondering if perhaps, until I get this trigger control while having a rush problem mastered, if I should carry the more bulky sig 239 instead of my dao kahr and taurus revolver?

Or more to my point, I rant sorry, is anyone aware of any smaller lighter pistols on par with the Kahr pm40 that are first shot da, follow up shots sa? In the 15 ounce range? Is it simply always a trade off in design that the smallest lightest guns will be dao?

I don't mean to be a jerk, but statements like this...

3 self defense situations (well 2 sd, 1 not I use to be a punk).

...and this one you made in another thread you started...

I am a former criminal, I never attacked anyone in the shower or anything, but when casing a house in my youth, I never ever considered while peeping in windows, that someone could be in a bathroom taking a shower before I entered.

...are going to make most members of this forum reluctant to help you.

A lot of us have ventured to the other side of the tracks in our youth. Some of the best LEOs came very close to playing for the other team. The thing is, most of them didn't actually shoot at people or invade their homes.

Firing a weapon is using deadly force. Firing at a person (when not self defense, defense of another's life, or in the line of duty) is attempted murder. This is not a 'high road' activity.

I sincerely hope you've become a better person since these events, and are no longer a 'criminal' or a 'punk.'

I'd hate to think that the wealth of information available from members of this site is being misused. :uhoh:

Gunwitch,
I told you in the last thread that given your self admitted history that you needed to identify yourself to the staff. As of now you've failed to do so.
