The last time i used a single point sling was 20 years ago, supplied by Uncle Sam and I have no idea what brand it was.
The rifle is a AR15 with ambi attachment latchplate. I have heard good things about the Magpul sling, but everyone has a favorite. I am simply looking for retention and mobility. Shooting slings are out for this rifle and I don't foresee a realistic need for a "do it all" sling that transitions between a retention strap and shooting sling. I do want the ability to either unclip it from the rifle or to unbuckle the sling with one hand.
I don't mind spending a little coin, but would like to keep it under the C-note mark for the sling and needed clips, releases, buckles, etc. Because everything seems to be sold as an "accessory" now instead of included hardware. Question ends here, the rest of the post is for those curious about the rifle. In short, it is as close as I can get to an M4.
For the curious, the rifle is a 5.56, flat-top receiver, 14.5" barrel, 1:7 twist, chrome lined with pinned and welded suppresor from Windham weaponry, BCM bolt and carrier along with BCM upper receiver forging. Magpul MOE carbine lenght handguards. I think the technical term is M4gery. Oh, Crane flip up sights and a planned EOTech. Lower is a S&W forging with a Spikes lower kit. Still undecided about buttstocks. Waffling between the standard M4 and trying the Magpul MOE.
