My uncle brought this to me, and doesnt want it. I recall seeing it 20 years ago in my grandpa's collection of stuff. Thought it was some gimmick type thing. Well i started researching and it turns out to be an innovative early red dot type sight. The tube transmits no image, just a dot on a black background, and both eyes are used to superimpose the red dot onto the target, seen with the off-eye.
The exact same early model was used by the armed forces on a raid in Vietnam on Son Tay prison. Seems this one is around a 1970 mfg
Any info anyone has, I would appreciate it. And yes, a variation of these were used in the original starwars movies.
All i have is the sight, no base or rings
