There's several variants of SK Jagd .22LR ammo. The two main variants seem to be Standard Plus (same as Wolf Match Target) and Match (same as Wolf Extra Match). The latter costs a little more. Is it worth the extra cost?
I read a post on snipershide.com about Wolf Match Target vs. Wolf Match Extra. It sounded like they would test sample lots from Wolf Match Target and if it was extremely consistent, they'd pull the lot and label it Match Extra.
To me, the Match Target works great. Unless I was shooting some serious comps, I'd stick with Match Target. Then again, if I was in a comp, I'd probably shoot Eley Tenex.
I've been shooting WMT and WME for many years - since a brick of WMT was $15. I've found that some guns like one and some like the other. There's also a slight difference between lot numbers like all rimfire ammo.
One difference is the speed... from the Sinclair International site:
" Wolf Match Target has a 40 grain bullet and a muzzle velocity of 1,050 fps. Match Extra has a 40 grain bullet and a muzzle velocity of 1,033 fps."
I always suggest starting with the cheap ammo, you might get lucky and find something your gun likes.
If you are shooting for group size, the Extra seems to throw fewer flyers, but the WMT isn't bad at all and the flyers aren't way far outside the group, just enough that one might ruin a 1/2" group at 50.
Those are nice groups. I'd like to try the wolf ammo if I can find it in stock anywhere. I tried a bunch of different ammo in my bull barrel 10/22 and the most consistent/tightest groups seem to be the cci subsonic which was a nice surprise since it cost half as much as the green tag and eley stuff, and I buy it anyway for shooting pistols with a can.
Haven't tried it a 100 yard. At ~1050 fps the time of flight is pretty long meaning it doesn't take a lot of wind to mess things up, of which we generally have plenty of. Those targets were shot on the the calmest day we've had a long time.
The Green Tag is quite good but it costs more than even the Wolf Match Extra, although it is generally is easier to find.
