No clue on mounts or performance on an SKS, but I can tell you that the EOTech itself is a great optic. I admit I was skeptical at first, but just one time at the range changed that. I do wish I had bought one of the more advanced models that gives you multiple site options (ring, dot, ring and dot, etc.)

Does that Darrell guy make a rear sight replacement mount for the SKS?

I know folks rave about his scout mounts for milsurp bolt actions (Mosin, K31, Mauser, etc).

More info can be found at Parallax's C&R forum. (Sorry, don't have the link handy.)

In the SKS forum under the AK forum on ar15.com someone got one of those mounts that replaces the rear sight I think. They mounted a reflex to it, which was a little high, but apparently worked.

Probably the Millett. I was hoping to get away without replacing the rear sight, but I don't think that's going to happen.

Hmm. Well aren't there rail-mounts for the AK that replace the gas-tube? I don't know if anything like that exists for the SKS, but some enterprising individual should jump on it, there are a lot of SKS rifles out there.

just found this not sure if it could be used with the millet.

original mounts were similar to the choate mount bolted to the receiver with holes drilled. can understand though if you dont want to ruin a collector piece but if its a collector piece why put a Eotech or Aimpoint on it?

If I understand that site correctly you don't drill holes. You take the pin out that holds the reciever cover, place the site on and replace the original pin or their pin.

Not a collector's piece. Thanks for the link, I may look into that (and open the aperture way up)

I was talking about the Choate Machine tool scope mount not the tech sight rear sight.
sorry if I didnt make that clear.

Well you could replace the rear sight with the Millet optic mount, and add the Tech-Sights rearsight as a backup iron. . .
