SKS help please

Hey guys, I've got a Yugo SKS and I want to take the grenade launcher and grenade sights off of it. Can anyone tell me how? I've heard that it may have an important gas port in but I don't see it. Please help.

Why in the world would you want to lose the grenade launcher? They're great with blank rounds for launching golf balls, tennis balls, what have you.
