SKS, is it worth it?

How about the China SKS?
Wasn't it the China that was sold by the crate of 50 or so? A buddy of mine bought one of those crate wonders for 98 bucks. It was the most grossly inaccurate center-fire rifle I've ever fired. We're talking minute of semi-truck at 50 yards. I guess you get what you pay for.

I bought my Romanian SKS around 8 years ago, it was my first or second (I'm not sure if the 30-30 or SKS came first) non-.22lr rifle. It is not very accurate. It is 100% reliable. It is a ton of fun to shoot. The caliber and weight are a good combination- enough of a shove on the shoulder to know you are shooting a gun, but comfortable enough to shoot all afternoon. The ammo is about as cheap as you'll ever find for centerfire ammo so you can also afford to shoot all afternoon. Yeah, they are worth it, so long as you can appreciate them for what they are and don't expect an MOA target rifle.

I'd say go ahead and get one. I like mine. I bought it about 15 years ago, new in the box for $75.00.

Ammo is cheap to. Lots of fun to shoot.

Their great guns and their not gettin any cheaper, get two!
I got a couple, my first one was real nice and I wanted to leave it alone but I wanted to mess around with one so I got another.

No, no, no, no, NO! Don't get one. Don't do it. Whatever you do, don't buy one. Just don't. Don't buy it. DON'T!

Nah I think they're great. I just couldn't stand all the love... my teeth were starting to hurt.
