I have a norinco sks. I dont know the manuf date, but lets assume its post ban. It has a non-folding pistol grip stock and I removed the bayonet. Can I use detachable mags or do I have to stick w/ the fixed? How about CA? Can you even have a psitol grip in CA? I know it can't have the det mag in CA without some special permit. Thanks for your input. Man, these laws are confusing! SUNSET! Such a beautifiul sunset!

Sorry, but sunset isn't going to help you. You may not install a folding stock, bayonet or adapt your SKS to accept detachable magazines. This is not because of the "Semiautomatic Assault Weapon" ban. It is because an SKS with any of those features is considered a non-sporting firearm and illegal to import. You may not make any changes to your SKS that would make it illegal to import.

I see. So even if the AWB sunsets 922r is stil in effect?
How about CA? can I have an sks w/ non folder stock, no bayonet, fixed mag and PISTOL GRIP?

Clarification on 922r: If the rifle is preban (pre '89?) can it have evil features it wasnt imported with?
Thanks! I know everyone asks these questions but I'm having a hard time deciphering the answers as they apply to SKS's.
