yugo sks is slide is partially coming back but not enough to eject the cartridge. pusher piston is very clean and everything is up to par that i can see. any ideas on how to fix this problem
Did you check the gas vent hole in the barrel?
Have you checked the gas valve to see what condition it's in? You may need to replace it. (Stainless replacement on this site)
Also, check to be sure the gas valve (not sure of the correct term) near the grenade launcher is turned the correct way. That will cause the same issue.
I know that on Chinese and Romanian SKS's, it DOES matter how you put the recoil spring in. They must go in C-clip towards the front. I put one in backwards once (c-clip towards rear of receiver) and the rifle would not cycle properly. If you have a Yugo then double check the gas valve.
Extracting is when the empty case is pulled from the chamber, ejecting is when the case is ejected from the firearm.
A paper clip, piece of copper wire, spring of right diameter or replacement gas valve will fix it. It's normal to have to use force to get the bolt open with steel case ammo.
Sometimes with the yugo sks they are parts compilations.
check the reciever cover if the other suggestions don't work.
If there is wear on the top of the bolt carrier you may have a binding problem, but this mostly happens with people who use the receiver cover scope mounts.
