SKS price check

Im not really interested in an SKS, but a buddy of mine is letting go what seems to be a pretty nice Norinco model 56 (?) for around 215 bucks. Is this a good buy? I thought about buying it and holding onto it for a bit then possibly reselling, but I wont do that if his price isnt too far from market value. I dont know if its the "pressed" barrel or the "screwed" version, I just dont know what to look for. Also, comes with 3 stripper clips and 45ish rounds of ammo. Is this a good buy at 215 bucks?

sounds okay to me, whatever the variation. I have a 1972 military one myself.

Clean with no pitting? Not mutilated? $215 is in the range for a Norinco SKS.

in 1988 a shop i used to frequent was giving away norinco sks's free if you bought a case of ammo. russian sks's were $$ 80, the shop i go to these day's is getting $$ 269 for yugo 59/66 & $$ 329 for one in ex. condition. i wish i would have bought about 20 case's of ammo back in the day .
