I picked up a Norinco SKS from a buddy of mine on the cheap, and I know its worth substantially more than what I paid. Its a nice gun and all, but unfortunately isnt of much use to me. I'd like to sell it to help fund a new pistol for my upcoming CHL. Hopefully one of you experts can chime in and help me out, heres what I'm lookin at:

Its a Norinco SKS, marked as such, with spike bayonet, sling, cleaning kit..
All of the serial numbers match except for the one that is etched into the wood stock. The stock is in pretty good shape, some nicks, scratches, but nothing glaringly wrong. Its finished fairly nicely. As far as I can tell, it has the "threaded" barrel. I also have about 350 rounds of Wolf Military Classic Hollow Point ammo that it came with, along with 3 stripper clips.

I would like to sell the rifle, but I dont want to take less than I could get, nor do I want to scare off buyers with a high price. Any thoughts on a good starting price? Thanks a bunch guys

I bought a pressed barrel in excellent shape, all metal and wood matching numbers, for $195 about a month ago. Threaded barrels are supposed to be worth a little more, but the non-matching stock may detract a little. I doubt if it would hurt much though.

Does it accept AK mags? I know Norinco type D or M SKS's fetch around $500-$800 on gunbroker. If it takes AK mags, thats about all that would raise the value substantially.

I bought two this summer for $220 and $230 OTD respectively. I would suggest the $220 number and own upwards to what the market will pay in your area.

Last summer I bought two Norinco's for $149 and $159 OTD, so you can see the price jump in my area from one year to the next.

new yugo's with the tacky grenade launcher sell for 230-250 at shops in texas. I'd buy it for 275 with the ammo included if that is any indicator of price. but I"m not an sks or gun buying connoisseur so what I am will to pay and what something is worth may not match up. which is why I left the gun show empty handed last weekend.

This is my NIB Chinese /26\ all milled all matching parts I bought about 6 months ago I paid $225.00 for it. Something to compare to.
