I don't think anyone will bother you out in Elbert County.

Pretty much. There are a lot of real registered machine guns out here anyway, so hearing something that sounds like FA really doesn't cause any alarm. In fact, it seems like every time we go shooting on a nice day, the neighbors in all directions decide it's a good idea and chime in!

Our sheriff is a good guy, too. He is very professional, and will deal with law breakers, but he does not harass people who are doing nothing wrong. He also understands gun laws at a level that few LEOs I've encountered do. Kinda goes with the territory, though, when you're chief LEO in a county that has about 90% gun ownership among residents and probably a 10:1 or higher gun : person ratio.

The only thing they really hound residents for out here are things that present a fire danger; it's so dry out here, and always windy, that a tiny fire can get out of hand in a heartbeat. You absolutely pull a permit for burning, or you will be ticketed if they see it. And fireworks that leave the ground are a big time no-no. If memory serves, we've actually had a complete fireworks ban the last 3 years. The danger is just too high.

Nice job. When do you start production. I want one, I just know I will use it one time and it will go in the giant box of gun stuff. If they were selling these things reasonable, they would sell a lot more of them, But right now with ammo prices, not many want to spend 30 dollars a second for some doodad that wastes ammo at such a high rate. It's great if you don't mind spending a couple hundred bucks for a minute or two of fun.
I would prefer to shoot for an hour or two if I wanted to blow through that much ammo. But you proved it could be done for a lot less than $350.
Maybe someone will come out with a $199 version.

Well, we got to try it out today, and it worked beautifully! I didn't have a camera with me, but we'll get video next time.

The rate achieved sounds/feels like it's in the 700-800 RPM range; It's not quite as fast as a real M4A1, but definitely faster than an AK. 30 round mags are emptied in right about 2 seconds. It's pretty controllable, though obviously not as much as a real MG that you can pull into your shoulder with both hands. I was able to keep all rounds in a 16" circle at 15 yards.

Definitely fun to play with, but also a good way to turn expensive ammunition into noise.

I also have improved the stock retention & locking pin design, though I haven't snapped any photos yet. It is now a one-handed operation to switch between locked for single shot and sliding for bump fire.

When do you start production.

Haha. Never. lol. It took me a good 5 hours total to build this thing & make it move properly, and I still have a little bit of clean up to do. I do hope, though, that it's a good pictorial representation/guide to those wanting to build something a little more robust and less ghetto than what I've seen on youtube. My mill made it easier for me, but anyone with a vise, a drill press, a hacksaw, some hand files and a few other common tools could make this.

Glad to see your attempt at duplicating the SlideFire. The SF stock is just way too expensive for its own good. One of my small LGS has a pile of time that no one is buying. I examined one and its really just a cheap polymer stock, and they're selling it for $350? no wonder its not selling...
you can build a complete lower for less than that.

Hope to see yours in a vid soon.

Nice!

This is awesome, if you know you're stuff is legal just ignore the pessimistic clowns trying to troll your thread.
But, I say heck with a 22lr I cant afford that either anymore haha making a CO2 BB gun auto :neener:

In this case the spring is part of the mechanism that prevents bump firing. I can't imagine a LEO wouldn't understand after seeing that demonstration.

I'd like to see a video of your DIY bumpfire stock. I'd buy a "Slide Fire" stock but damn, they are like $400 for a piece of plastic. When there are always holes in my gun collection, it's hard to justify hundreds of dollars on gimmicky pieces of plastic.
