I have a stainless/synthetic 10/22 with aperture sights that works pretty nicely when the woods are wet. The only issue that I have is the sling. It's a woven nylon one from Uncle Mike's, the quick adjust kind. It's a great sling, but it soaks up water like a sponge. I'm not talking about pouring rain, but just being out when there is heavy dew or rain on the leaves. The sling always ends up positively soggy, just from brushing against wet leaves and such.

Any suggestions for something a bit less absorbent?

Leather will not soak up as much moisture, but will not last very long in those conditions. I mostly use Supersling IIs made by Outdoor Connection, and they do well in similar conditions. Assuming that you like your nylon sling (I find them to be quite comfortable) I would pick up some scotch-guard (or equivalent waterproofing spray) and give it several coats. That should help out quite a bit, but may not be as comfortable.

the turner biothane/aws sling is a great sling. i have them on 3 different guns.

however, it seems a bit much for a 10/22. it might work if you were willing to cut it down and make a simple strap sling out of it.

What about a neoprene one? Those are supposed to be good for wet conditions, right?
