Sling Use With Bipod: Damage to Stock?

I use a sling on a Savage Hog Hunter as a shooting aid and not just for carry. The rifle has a synthetic stock. Now I want to get a bipod. The Harris bipod comes with a sling attachment. However, I am concerned that using the sling attached to the bipod for more than just carrying the rifle will damage the stock.

Is this a legitimate concern?

no, the harris bipod is rock solid and it will be fine
