I need a sling for my saiga rifle. I am a very large and tall guy, and the slings i've tried seem to be way too small.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

You need a sling for slinging up to shoot paper? Sling for hunting? Sling for long hiking/hunting? Sling just to carry from car to range? Sling for matches? Depends what you need it for, and what kinda budget you looking at. Can literally go from $10 to $100.

well, i was hoping for something multipurpose.

My main purpose in firearms is defensive use, but something I can use for the range. And something I can use to throw the rifle out of the way and walk with as well.

Well my top pick would be the TAB sling, versatile and amazingly high marks, but maybe too much sling at $65 for a Saiga

I'd say just go for the standard GI web sling you can get them for $2.50 at www.e-gunparts.com. I'm 6' and 250 and I've used those for years. Can't go wrong, figure out if it fills your needs (which it should), if you want to get fancy you can try a heavy leather shooter's sling like Turner's slings, but those are pretty serious $$ too.

Of course any sling you get is fine, go to Walmart or Cabela's or Bass Pro and just handle them all if you are that worried about what is comfy for you. If it's just to carry around the range go with the cheap GI web, if its for long hunt in the woods, maybe try a wider padded sling for those long hauls. For me I prefer the unpadded because I "sling up" when I shoot off hand and the wider thicker straps aren't as comfy when everything is "strapped up"

V-Tac sling by Viking, Rock river arms sells them. Adjusts out for us larger guys. Lets you transistion from right to left, pull tight or lay loose. They are great for "tactical" use.

My 2 cents
