Oh Hi Oh
Just got a Sig 229-40. I notice the trigger has quite a bit of side-to-side play in it compared to my 239. I assume this is normal?

I have both a P229 and a P239 and find no sloppy side to side wiggle on either one. Suggest you call customer service.

Yeah...that sounds broke. :what: I'd have a smith look at it ASAP. I have 2 Sig 229s and one issued one. None have sloppy triggers.

Sig 229 in 9mm and another one in .40.

Neither one has 'slop' in the trigger. Suggest you get it looked at.

Not exactly...

My P229 (.40S&W) has a long-throw trigger but no side-to-side movement that I've ever noticed. That's a little weird.

I own a few Sigs and none of them have sloppy triggers. Even the new DAK and R models that I've played with at the local shop are good. I'd send it back to Sig or have them send you a new trigger bar and trigger.

If you really want to go all out, send the Sig to Bruce Gray ([email protected]) and have him spiff it up for you with a nice action job!

Let us know how it turns out!

Everyone take a deep breath...how much movement are you talking about? All auto triggers will have a little side to side movement. Something is wrong if the trigger is very loose but if it works don't sweat it.

my 228 has about an eigth of an inch movement from side to side...

my 232 has so much movement it drags the frame...

but they both work great... :D

Just an update to my post

I've taken the gun to the range a couple of times and it performs flawlessly. It does have a bit more play in the trigger than my other Sigs but nothing major. Perhaps I made it sound worse than I intended in my original post.
