Was reloading some range brass and found that SPEER and BLASER (brass case) are using small primers. Since when did they start using Small Primers????

CCI, Blazer, *some* Speer (they own CCI, or vice-versa), Win NT, and/or any of the non-toxic, lead-free rounds.

SPP in .45acp is just an evil plot! :banghead:

I've got a bunch of Federal with SPP.
That's the ammo Wally world had when I bought my 1911 (June 2011).
Having no brass, I bought a few boxes of factory ammo.

Didn't even realize that LPP'd brass was available.

That works out well if you do not reload other calibers that use LPP. You only need to stock the SPP for all your handgun needs. As for me I am not so fortunate but it keeps another reloading option open if I should run out of LPP for some reason and still want to shoot 45 ACP.

I love them... The majority of the rounds I shoot take spp, only other lpp I shoot is 44 magnum. When I shoot my 45s I just shoot either spp or lpp, never both at the same time to help with keeping them seperate.

Of all the spent brass I go thru, I find less than 5% of the brass is SPP. I just toss them aside and load LPP for my .45 and SPP for my 9mm. They can be a pain if they get in the mix when loading ammo.

be safe

I've had problems with the spp 45s. inconsistent diameters of primer pockets, crimps, etc. ALL of the spp 45s I get now are tossed into the recycle bin. They're just NOT worth the trouble to me.

Am I the only one who has a moment of pause when I see the name Blazer and the word brass in the same sentence?

You get used to it if you use range pickup brass. You get a lot of Blazer brass and it becomes a normal, every day thing.
