Small Summer Carry Guns

Greetings All,

I'm looking at some possible choices for a lightweight, easily concealable pistol for summer carry. I wouldn't feel at a huge disadvantage with something in .380, but I would prefer a 9mm of some sort.

The Glock 26 seems a bit too fat for me to carry easily under a T-shirt. I want to minimize the potential for printing as much as possible. I have looked at the Kel-Tec PF-9, the P-11, and I have also considered the Ruger LC9 as well but I don't know much about it. I know it hasn't been on the market for very long, but if any of you own an LC9, what can you tell me about it? Have you had any problems with yours?

Like I said before, I wouldn't feel terribly disadvantaged with a .380, so that's not off the table. I have looked at the KT P3AT and the Elsie Pea, mainly because they're so small and I would like to carry deep. I'd like to hear your opinions about those two and whatever difficulties you may have had with them. I would also like to hear any opinions on other comparable .380 pistols.

I'm looking for something in the $300-$400 price range.
I sure like my 3rd generation S&W model 3914 & 3913 and CS9 for summer carry.I also carry a beretta 85s and kahr pm9.

I've got a .25 auto and a .38 derringer I'll toss into my pocket.

Out of your price range, but worth it.

It's out of your price range, but for my money the P238 from Sig is the best little carry gun out there. I used to carry a Ruger LCP, but it was super kicky and it felt almost too small to me. I traded in the LCP on my Sig, and LOVE everything about that gun.

My husband bought a Bodyguard .380 for his carry gun, with laser grip, and he really likes it. I've yet to shoot that, though it would be in your price range. He carries it daily.

I just picked up a MPA380B, it's a well made Seecamp 380 clone for $265 from Buds Guns.

I reviewed it yesterday here.

I have many of the pistols in mentioned in this thread.

Seecamp 32
MPA380B
LCP will be for sale soon
Kahr PM40
Glock 27

As soon as the MPA380 proves itself 100% reliable it will take the place of the Seecamp for when there is zero chance of trouble.

The laser sighted PM40 is easy to conceal and is carried if there is little chance of trouble.

The laser sighted G27 is for when trouble is likely.
