Magnum loads in my M66 are VERY brisk. In the 686+, brisk but manageable. When I go to the 627 I wonder where the recoil went--probably less than the .38 spl +P rounds I shoot in the 686+. The .38 spl +P are like .22s when shot from the 627. Just "poof"... Like I said the thing's a tank.
And they all hit where you aim.
The general V-comp model listed around $1000 when I got mine (for $20 worth of raffle tickets), but it is a special production run so I don't know whether that would affect the value. I had a long debate with myself before deciding to shoot this beauty.
