I have been struggling for some time to figure out what my next carry gun should be. I love the size and weight of my KT P-11. But I have really been aching for somthing that I can shoot with a little more confidence. I went to a gunshow today and got the chance to handle the S&W M&P. Before I handled one, I thought of it as just a gussied up Sigma. I have never liked the Sigma series. I have always thought of them as a substandard attempt to rip off the Glocks. But the M&P, is SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET. The grip is slim, nicely shaped, the entire gun has a very comfortable and organic feel. The trigger was great, the sights were perfect, (almost, I'm going to replace the front with a fiber optic) and the fit and finish of the gun was impeccible. And best of all the darn thing won't break the bank either. I mulled over it a bit and I decided I am going to get the compact 9mm. The local shop has one for about 440 bucks. I'll post a range report as soon as I get paid and I get my grubby mitts on it!!:D
Any input you can give me on a good holster for it or what you think of the M&Ps would be greatly appreciated.

I have had my M&P .40 compact for a couple of weeks now. It is an awesome gun. I traded my Glock G27 for it and I am not sorry one bit!!
The M&P feels awesome in my hand, has better felt recoil and I am more accurate with it. I can't ask for anything more.
I also really the fact that the gun was "Made in USA"!!
I have a Cochise Defender on order with K&D Holsters (http://kdholsters.com/basefile/iwb-defend.html ) and a Infidel from Comp-tac( http://www.comp-tac.com/ ) on the way next week.

MADE IN THE USA is one of the reasons I chose it. But really, it felt so good in my hand, I don't care where it was made! Let me know how the holster works out.

I will try and remember to let you know on the holsters. I am sure that both are going to be great. Kevin at K&D Holsters has made me another holster and his work is just awesome!! He is an artist, who uses leather. I know it will be great. Comp-tac makes some of the best Kydex gear being made. I have had a couple pieces of their gear in the past and have been extremely happy with it!
It does feel great in your hand, doesn't it?

M&P! Lovei it!

I have the fullsize M&P .40, best carry gun I've every owned! I absolutely love the M&P pistol its probably my favorite gun purchase I've made in many years. I got the kit with three 14rd mags, Bladetech holster and mag pouch and the standard additional grip replacements, brand new from my dealer for $513+tax. Unfortunetly I don't think they have a kit for the compact, but personally I have no trouble carrying the fullsize, the grip on the compact is just a bit too small for my hands, although I do like the M&P compact over the Glock and XD compacts. In fact I'd go so far as to say if I had to choose any compact pistol the M&P would be it.

Youre going to love owning an M&P there's no doubt!

As for a holster I really like the Bladetech one that came with mine, and it has the S&W logo on it:D

Ditto on the M&P's. I picked up a M&P 9c, loved it so much I got the fullsize too. Just sold my G17 as these are everything I need in a polymer pistol. I think Smith has definately given Glock a run for their money with these. Check out MP-pistol.com

I just shot mine more yesterday. :D The more I shoot it, the more I like it!!:D It is a great gun. I really don't know why, but my accuracy has improved at least 50% if not closer to 75% with this gun!!

I put money down on my M&P today. I should be picking it up on Saturday. I'll post some picks and a range report when I get it. Can't wait.

I picked up my M&P and it is Sweet. The only problem is that it doens't fit in any holster I have. Even my universal holsters won't fit it. Bummer. I wanted to carry it right away. :( I'm goin to the range with it this morning to see how it shoots. Can't wait.

The M&P40 will fit most holsters designed to fit the Glock 20 or 21. Holster makers are coming out with designs for the M&P, but until they come to market you can get buy just fine with a holster designed for a Block.
