Hi guys! Could anyone give me an idea what a blued Smith & Wesson model 29 with an 8 3/8" barrel be worth...It has pachmayr grips and bluing looks pretty good overall.

"Pretty good" isn't precise enough to determine the quality of the finish.

The grips are a detraction from value. It will cost $50-$75 to buy the correct ones used.

Which model? A model 29 is worth more than a 29-2 which is worth more than a 29-3 etc. Again, you must be precise in description.

Box and tools included?

The long barrel is least popular and values lag behind the shorter models.

A 29-2 in 95% without the box and with rubber grips would likely sell for around $450-$500. If in the box with the correct stocks then $550-$600 or maybe a tad more.

These are my estimates, others will say otherwise.

-3 or later $450-550
-2 $600-750
-1 $1100-1500
I don't know if the "no dash" 29 was offered with an 8 3/8" barrel, but if it was $1500+
All prices are with the proper grips.

IMO $400 or so. The -3 is far less desirable than the -2 to most shooters and a 90% gun is classified as shooter grade.

What would be the value on a 629 no-dash, brand new with box, grips and stamped side-plate, counterbored chambers and pinned barrel?

Yeah, mine has the presentation case, tools, manual and it has a 6-inch barrel. The trigger is ice smooth and light.

I recently sold a Walther .22 for about that price. Hard to believe they'd both pull the same $$$.
