Okay, so who owns and/or shoots one of the Scandium .44 Mags? I handled one in a shop; lust at first sight. It looks cool, it's lighter than either my Government Model or my CZ-97, and it felt good in the hand.
Unfortunately, it'd probably beat the crap out of my hand, and then it wouldn't feel so hot.
The wood grips look nice, but an exposed metal backstrap on a super-light .44 Mag? Methinks not.
I'd probably want to replace those grips with Pachmayr Decellerator or Legend grips. (The Legends have wood in them and look nicer.)
I'm liking the 4", full underlug look as well. The barrel profile is very appealing to me, and the color scheme looks all-business.
Smith & Wesson, on their website, list the weight as 26.5 ounces.
The standard 629 stainless steel model weighs in at 41.5 ounces, a weight difference of a full fifteen (15!) ounces!
So, anybody have one, and has it given you carpal tunnel yet?
