I'm not really sure how I ended up buying this gun but here goes

I had been looking online for a pre-lock Performance Center (PC) 627 for a while, but I just wasn't willing to fork over >$2k for one. Anyway, I'm about to turn in one night a few weeks back and decided to troll gunbroker.com one last time for the evening. Up pops a brand new listing for this gun and I guess I saw what I wanted to see and filed it away as a 6-shot PC 627. I messaged the seller with a few questions and before I could sign off, he called me.

We chatted for quite some time during which he answered all my questions and convinced me he was a high quality, honest individual. During this period I watched 2 or more bids hit the auction, so I hit buy-it-now figuring I'd show those young punks who's the boss :) That click cost me $900.

Of course the gun arrived at my FFL dealer the day after I left town for a week. The dealer contacted me by email letting me know my 686 had arrived, my what? Well, in addition to being my FFL and gunsmith, we've grown to be friends so he seized the opportunity to have his way with me. He went on to say the invoice says it's a 686 but he'd send me a text picture of the actual gun. I received a picture of a horribly pimped-out Bersa Thunder :what:. Needless to say a fury of steam erupted from my ears and countless expletives left my mouth, even my dog looked worried. A quick phone call and I realized I'd been had, completely.

The first thing I did was go check the auction listing and sure enough, a 686-3 it is, so be it, I'm a huge L-frame fan and the gun looked beautiful in the pictures. I have no idea where the seller procured the grips but they very handsome, fit me like a glove and suit the gun to a "T" I feel.

The serial number is interesting, PCK0110 which is stamped underneath the topstrap and on the bottom of the handgrip.

Anyway, I'm now the proud owner of a 6" ported PC 686-3-627 :) Figured I'd share a couple pictures with the THR gang.

Nice gun and funny story man.

I believe those grips are made by the Altamont company.
