S&W Performance Center custom work

Will the S&W Performance Center build a completely custom revolver if requested?

In other words, if I contact them and say, "Hey, build me a new 627-based pistol with <list of features>, then ship it to my FFL", will they do that? Or will they only work on one I send them?

I've drooled over those 2 5/8th's inch 627's that Lew Horton had a few years back, I'd like something very similar - just wondering if it's worth talking to the Performance Center about building me something a lot like that.

(yeah, I know, I could just call and ask, but thought I'd get some comments here first).

Call to verify, but I don't think they operate as a Custom Gunsmith Shop.

What JoeHatley said, I once called about a standard model with a discontinued barrel length, the responce was, we can do it if you place a minimum order of 300, that was just 298 more than I wanted!
