Just as the title says, I was hoping someone could tell me about the Smith & Wesson Sigma SW9C.
I'm curious because my friend has one and has offered to sell me it for $200 and to me it's really hard to beat that price for a full sized autopistol.

Thanks in advance!

I'd suggest shooting it first. Many of the older Sigma's had issues that have been fixed in current models. Also may folks can't deal with the trigger.

You can also find used Sigmas from the new and improved "VE" series for $200.

That is how much I let mine go for.

I'm not sure if it's an older model or not to be honest. All I know is that it came with a serialized 'LE only' mag and has what I think are proof marks on it. Does that give any clue?

They are good for what they are. If you want an inexpensive polymer framed striker fired pistol to beat around with, its great. A lot use them as truck guns, many use them as everyday carry pistols.

I have one. Works fine as an inexpensive CCW. Bought it brand new with the special. 50 dollar rebate (which I just got) and 2 15 round magazines. Plus the store threw in an extra on top of the 2 it came with. Its good for what it is, I am just not a fan of polymer/striker style pistols. I rented a 1911 the other day and loved it. To each his own. As other have said, try it before you buy it and make sure its what you want.

I've got the 9VE, and i like it quite a bit. like the rest have said they are great for what they are, and they're definitely good as beater pistols. plus the capacity is good for the grip size, which is something i like.

Funny that I found a thread talking about a sw9c. Just now I was dry firing my sw9c, and the damn striker pin broke. Now I have a paper weight. Wow I am really  with this gun right now. Do I have to send this thing to s&w? I'm not the orginal owner, so no warranty for me. I was looking at s&w web site and they have the striker assembley for $25 dollars. It says that it is factory installed only.:scrutiny: Someone help please, I need guidance.

avoid the 9C; if you get a Sigma, get one from the V or VE series.

and to Brownrock, i would just call S&W and tell them what happened. i'm sure they'll take care of you.

Thanks jahwarrior. I sent S&W an email and they emailed back with a shipping number to ship my Sigma to them for repair. :D

There service is great, complain about the trigger and they will make it better. I will still be long and hard but smooth and give it a feel for when it's about to go bang.
