TF: Yes you can use 45-70 dies. It would be a good thing to a FL die. If you have a rolling block action you may find it hard to get brass in and out of the chamber unless the hammer has been beveled. If you don't have dies do a little shopping. People went of a feeding frenzy after Quigley for 45-110's.
ya the hammer was ground, it loads easy. this one has the firing pin retractor, so i believe this i a bp action. i will make a post on this, so i don't hijack this thread. i should be getting a 1867 rb think its a husqvarna or something.

Shot the t3x .270wsm, my buddy's American .30-06, and my RAM 7mm rem mag today.

Shot clusters in the top of the red, and above are final groups.
And yeah I know 3 shots don't mean squat....but if I'd shot all three guns at the same poa (kinda did), total group size would been about 1.25 or so inches. What does that mean? Well I shoot them all reasonably well of a bipod and wadded t-shirt.

I appreciate you sharing your brain and elbow grease with us. I've been kicking around the idea of a RA compact for the kids first hunting rifle. This thread alone has virtually convinced me to grab one sooner than later. Thanks, Loon.
