I have a late production Detective Special and my current favorite pocket gun is my Taurus 85 SSUL. the Taurus has an aluminum frame and is just such a nice carry gun, loaded with 135gr. Speer Gold Dot .38spl +P rounds.

My uncle has a first generation Detective Special that was his fathers. His wife carries it, I'm gonna try to work a trade for it. He wanted some of those +Ps to carry but his isn't +P capable. Maybe I'll offer him a shiny new Taurus 85 SSUL for it, I can get them for $279 +tax locally.

My favorite snubby is MY 1971 (2nd series 1947-1972) factory nickel,
six-shot Colt Detective Special that has only been test fired 6 times.

I have other "favorites" as well; one of which is a concealed carry
S&W model 642.

model 640(.38),
model 642,
model 649,
and a 2" model 64.

the rest are 3" or 4" guns.

the snubbys are carried on the ankle or in the pocket depending on the clothes and weather......
