As the title says I am thinking of applying for a job in New Zealand. What are firearm and self defense laws like there. (I know there are a few THR members from NZ) Thanks

Better than Australia, but no where near as good as here. Especially as to self defense.

The USA is the best place on Earth - and not just for guns and gun rights. I would never consider living anywhere else.

Here, you are a citizen. In the rest of the world, you are basically a ward of the state. I could never be happy living like that.

And I'd never have a child anywhere but in America.

I agree that the USA is probably the best spot to be on earth (well, there's always room for improvement) but Swiss citizenship would certainly be nice.

when i hunted there a number of years ago, the people told me that you have to have a permit for each gun, you have to have a police approved storage place, and could be inspected almost at will. if your storage was "inadequate", good bye guns. the procedure for bringing a hunting rifle in was ok, but i doubt it will be as easy for someone planning to live there for a while. good luck
