Hi all, I'm relatively new here and since this site is a great source for information I've got a question for you. I just ordered an M1 Garand from the CMP but was wondering where I can find decent prices for a bayonet, cleaning kit, sling or any items that would've been originally issued with the rifle. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Check your local gun shows. I was at my local show(N.C.), looking for a Garand bayonet. I saw a gentleman walking around with one in his hand. It was nickle plated with scabbard. Price? $25. I took a chance because it was in such great shape. I did some research, and found it was a parade/presentation bayonet, made in 1943 by American Fork and Hoe. I felt lucky to find what I consider a rare piece. It is also the same date as my Garand!

Thanks for the advice guys, got some en bloc clips on the way. Just picked up my Garand this morning and she's a beauty! Originally manufactured in 42 but the stock has been replaced. Now I just need to get some ammo and get out to the range!
