So I have a older 30-06 BAR as most of you have probably seen me post. I went to check out a gun shop I'd never been too today. I didn't know what I'd been missing out. Heard they were unfriendly and their prices were high but they were super friendly today and their prices while not Wal Mart cheaper were cheaper than Dicks Sporting Goods and another gun shop I also visited today.

Anyway, they had a new Browning BAR instock. I really liked it. It was a 300 Win Mag which I didn't want. Had it been in a 25-06 I probably would have gone ahead and bought it. While it didn't feel or look that much different than my older one it just like usual had a great fit to it and I just really liked it.

Any comments on these new BAR's? The one they had didn't have the BOSS which I also want if I get another one. Are there many advantages to these over the older ones? It only felt slightly different. I kind of want something I can keep in nice shape and not use it to hunt with. So that way it wouldn't get dinged and scratched up.

On the other hand I really don't need to spend money on another gun like this and I probably will end up not getting it.

I have owned several auto-loaders including a nice Winchester M100. I think the BOSS would be advantageous on one of those. Autoloaders in particular can benefit from a weight of some type placed at a certain point on the barrel to help eliminate natural vibration, and action vibration.
